by

Marcus Paul, formerly Deputy Head, Queen’s College, Taunton

This talk will focus on the life and work of James and Agnes Kinnier Wilson in 1870s frontier America. The Wilsons’ adventures and life story provide a gripping tale of romance, danger, self-sacrifice, faith and hope. Their experiences give a unique insight to the life and work of a missionary couple from Ireland and Scotland in the ‘Wild West’ of America and the world of ‘cowboys and Indians’.  The lecture will be illustrated by over a hundred historic slides of 1870s America most of which will never have been seen before by the audience. Marcus has material on the Cheyenne exodus of 1878 which has never previously been published.
